For the 2026 academic year, bursaries will be awarded within these fields of study (National Diploma or Degree):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Road Transport Economics<\/li><li>Road Transport Management<\/li><li>Road Traffic Management (Accident Investigation\/ Traffic Policing)<\/li><li>Road Engineering (Traffic Engineering\/ Bridge Engineering\/ Pavement Engineering\/ Transportation Planning\/ Construction Materials\/ Storm Water\/ Environment\/ Construction Management)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">MORE ABOUT THE SARF BURSARY PROGRAMME \u2013 COVERAGE VALUE &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The SARF bursary is a partial bursary, to assist students with study related expenses. The bursary value will be determined based on the students needs and the Council of the Federation\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bursary recipients will be required to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Make a presentation to your Federation local branch on your subject of study<\/li><li>Submit a report of study progress every 6 months<\/li><li>Enroll as an associate members of the SARF<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SARF BURSARY<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Preference will be given to South African residents, however members of SADC countries can also apply (* see note below for list of SADC countries)<\/li><li>You must be studying towards a qualification within one of the aforementioned road transport fields of study<\/li><li>You must be studying at a recognised University or the University of Technology in South Africa (or equivalent)<\/li><li>Your application must be endorsed by the correct academic authority at your selected tertiary institute<\/li><li>National Diploma students: you must have passed the first semester (S1) exams<\/li><li>Degree students: you must have passed the first year exams<\/li><li>Preference will be given to those studying at advanced levels (MTech, MSc or higher), however undergraduate students can also apply<\/li><li>Preference will be given to full-time students however part-time and distance learning students can also apply<\/li><li>Preference will be given to employees of members of the SARF<\/li><li>You must intend on working within the South African road transport industry after graduation<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>* The Southern African Development Community (SADC) includes 16 countries, namely: Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eswatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.<br>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">HOW TO APPLY FOR THE SARF BURSARY<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Download and complete the&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.zabursaries.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/SARF-Bursary-Application-Form.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SARF Bursary Application Form<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;(.pdf)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students applying in other SADC countries must apply through Road Federation or International Road Federation (Washington\/ Geneva office).<br>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your completed application form (the submission of these documents is compulsory \u2013 if any items are missing, your application be disregarded):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>ID document (certified copy)<\/li><li>Grade 11 year end results (certified copy)<\/li><li>Matric certificate (certified copy)<\/li><li>Proof of tertiary registration (on tertiary institution letterhead)<\/li><li>Latest tertiary results (on tertiary institution letterhead)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications should be submitted to the South African Road Federation Head Office, in one of the following ways:<br>1) Post:<br>P O Box 8379<br>Birchleigh<br>1621<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2) Hand delivery:<br>South African Road Federation<br>48 Gladiator Street<br>Rhodesfield<br>KEMPTON PARK<br>1619<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3) Fax: 011 394 7934<br>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CLOSING DATE FOR THE SARF BURSARY<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>31 August 2026.<br>(Applications submitted after this date will not be accepted \u2013 please apply before the closing date to ensure your application is considered.)<br>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CONTACT THE SARF BURSARY PROVIDER<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For any queries related to this bursary programme, please contact The SARF directly:<br>South African Road Federation Head Office<br>Tel: 011 394 9025 \/ 011 394 1459<br>Email: sybul@sarf.org.za<\/p><div class=\"forms-content\" id=\"forms-334096194\"><div style=\"width: 300px; padding: 20px; margin: 0 auto; border: 1px solid #ddd; border-radius: 8px; background-color: #f9f9f9; text-align: center; font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\">\r\n    <p style=\"font-size: 16px; margin: 0 0 10px;\">Need Information or Confused about Something ?
