{"id":7448,"date":"2024-02-17T12:19:25","date_gmt":"2024-02-17T12:19:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/collegeguide.co.za\/?page_id=7448"},"modified":"2024-02-17T12:19:25","modified_gmt":"2024-02-17T12:19:25","slug":"nsfas-requirements","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/forms24.co.za\/data\/nsfas-requirements\/","title":{"rendered":"\u200bNSFAS requirements 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The following basic requirements must be met in order to apply for any of the NSFAS bursaries; applicants must:<\/p><div class=\"forms-atf\" style=\"margin-top: 15px;margin-bottom: 20px;\" id=\"forms-918288773\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-9198760278752355\"\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\n<!-- Responsive ads atf -->\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\n     style=\"display:block\"\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-9198760278752355\"\n     data-ad-slot=\"8381596201\"\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Be South African citizens<\/li><li>Comply with the entry requirements set by the universities of their choice \/ have proof of registration or acceptance to said university<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Once successfully awarded the bursary, students must pass all courses and complete the qualification within the minimum time frame prescribed by the particular university to avoid the risk of having to repay the bursary amount.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>In some cases, bursars may be required to report their particular NSFAS bursary exam results in order to continue to receive funding.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All applications will require certified copies of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>ID document<\/li><li>Grade 12 results<\/li><li>Parent\/guardian\u2019s ID and employment documents (salary slips\/pensions slips if applicable\/affidavit if unemployed)<\/li><li>Proof of university acceptance\/registration<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u200bNSFAS may need more information from you to process your application, check what supporting documents are required and ensure that you have all the relevant information.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will need the following to complete your NSFAS application:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Your own cellphone number and email address<\/li><li>Copy of your ID or birth certificate<\/li><li>ID copies of parents, guardian or spouse<\/li><li>Your proof of income or 1 year\u2019s IRP5 (if applicable)<\/li><li>Your parents, guardian or spouse\u2019s proof of income&nbsp;<\/li><li>If you are a SASSA grant recipient, no proof of income will be required<\/li><li>Applicants with a disability must submit a completed and signed Disability Annexure A Form,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tut.ac.za\/s-fin-aid\/Documents\/2020\/nsfas\/NSFAS-Disability.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>click here<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;to download<\/li><li>An applicant who is recognised as a Vulnerable Child by the Department of Social Development must provide a completed and signed Vulnerable Child Declaration and Consent Form,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tut.ac.za\/s-fin-aid\/Documents\/2020\/nsfas\/Vulnerable-Child.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>click here<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;to download.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HOW AND WHERE TO APPLY<\/strong><strong>You can apply online using a cellphone, tablet or computer. Follow these simple steps to apply:<br><br><\/strong>Step 1: Go to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nsfas.org.za\/content\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>www.nsfas.org.za<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;and click on the \u2018myNSFAS\u2019 tabStep 2: Create a myNSFAS accountStep 3: Click on the \u2018APPLY\u2019 tab and answer the questions on the screenStep 4: Upload the required supporting documents then click on \u2018submit\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After you click on \u2018submit\u2019, your application reference number will appear on the screen.
