Instead of taking a loan, you can withdraw funds from your PF in full or in part. Just remember that to initiate the PF withdrawal process you will have to keep your Universal Account Number (UAN) handy.<\/p><div id=\"forms-4147646975\" class=\"forms-atf forms-entity-placement\" style=\"margin-top: 15px;margin-bottom: 20px;\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-9198760278752355\"\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\n<!-- Responsive ads atf -->\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\n     style=\"display:block\"\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-9198760278752355\"\n     data-ad-slot=\"8381596201\"\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In order to withdraw your PF amount using EPFO portal, you will need to ensure the following:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>UAN\u00a0must be activated<\/li><li>Aadhar number must be linked and verified with UAN<\/li><li>The bank account where you want to receive the amount, must be the same as the bank account registered with your Aadhaar.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In case of any changes or modifications, you can complete the eKYC process, and update your details before you submit a claim.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"pro\"><strong>&nbsp;Procedure for EPF withdrawal<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Broadly, the withdrawal of EPF can be made either by:<\/p>\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Submission of a physical application for withdrawal<\/li><li>Submission of an online application<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"phys\"><strong>1. Submission of a physical application<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For this, one can download the new composite claim (Aadhaar)\/composite claim form (Non-Aadhaar) from here :<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"EPFO Portal\" width=\"606\" height=\"329\" srcset=\"https:\/\/assets1.cleartax-cdn.com\/s\/img\/20171201115053\/EPF-Appl.png 606w, https:\/\/assets1.cleartax-cdn.com\/s\/img\/20171201115053\/EPF-Appl-300x163.png 300w\" src=\"https:\/\/assets1.cleartax-cdn.com\/s\/img\/20171201115053\/EPF-Appl.png\"><\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new composite claim form (Aadhaar) can be filled and submitted to the respective jurisdictional EPFO office without the attestation of the employer whereas, the new composite claim form (Non-Aadhaar) shall be filled and submitted with the attestation of the employer to the respective jurisdictional\u00a0EPFO\u00a0office. One may also note that in case of partial withdrawal of EPF amount by an employee for various circumstances as discussed in the above table, very recently, the requirement to furnish various certificates has been alleviated and the option of self-certification has been introduced for the EPF subscribers.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"online\"><strong>2. Submission of an online application for EPF Withdrawal<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Interestingly, the EPFO has very recently come up with the online facility of withdrawal, which has made the entire process more comfortable and less time-consuming.<strong>Prerequisite:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To apply for the withdrawal of EPF online through the EPF portal, make sure that the following conditions are met:<\/p>\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The UAN (Universal Account Number) is activated, and the mobile number used for activating the UAN is in working condition.<\/li><li>The UAN is linked with your KYC, i.e. Aadhaar, PAN and the bank details along with the IFSC code.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If the above conditions are met, then the requirement of attestation of the previous employer to carry out the process of withdrawal can be done away with.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Steps to apply for EPF withdrawal online:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 1:<\/strong>&nbsp;Go to the UAN portal by clicking&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in\/memberinterface\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 2:<\/strong>&nbsp;Log in with your UAN and password and enter the captcha.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"UAN Login\" width=\"628\" height=\"298\" srcset=\"https:\/\/assets1.cleartax-cdn.com\/s\/img\/20171201111751\/pasted-image-05.png 628w, https:\/\/assets1.cleartax-cdn.com\/s\/img\/20171201111751\/pasted-image-05-300x142.png 300w\" src=\"https:\/\/assets1.cleartax-cdn.com\/s\/img\/20171201111751\/pasted-image-05.png\"><\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 3:<\/strong>&nbsp;Then, click on the tab \u2018Manage\u2019 and select KYC to check whether your KYC details such as Aadhaar, PAN and the bank details are correct and verified or not.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"PF KYC\" width=\"628\" height=\"307\" srcset=\"https:\/\/assets1.cleartax-cdn.com\/s\/img\/20171201115809\/Image-3.png 628w, https:\/\/assets1.cleartax-cdn.com\/s\/img\/20171201115809\/Image-3-300x147.png 300w\" src=\"https:\/\/assets1.cleartax-cdn.com\/s\/img\/20171201115809\/Image-3.png\"><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets1.cleartax-cdn.com\/s\/img\/2017\/12\/20151344\/EPF-Withdrawal-Claim-Form.png\" alt=\"EPF Withdrawal - Claim Form\" class=\"wp-image-42441\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 4:<\/strong>&nbsp;After the KYC details are verified, go to the tab \u2018Online Services\u2019 and select the option \u2018Claim (Form-31, 19 &amp; 10C)\u2019 from the drop-down menu.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets1.cleartax-cdn.com\/s\/img\/2017\/12\/20151749\/EPF-Withdrawal-3.png\" alt=\"Verify bank account number\" class=\"wp-image-42442\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 5:<\/strong>&nbsp;The \u2018Claim\u2019 screen will display the member details, KYC details and other service details. Enter the last four digits of your bank account and click on \u2018Verify\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets1.cleartax-cdn.com\/s\/img\/2017\/12\/20151954\/EPF-Withdrawal-4.png\" alt=\"Certificate of undertaking\" class=\"wp-image-42443\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 6:<\/strong>&nbsp;Click on \u2018Yes\u2019 to sign the certificate of the undertaking and then proceed.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 7:<\/strong>&nbsp;Now, click on \u2018Proceed for Online claim\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 8:<\/strong>&nbsp;In the claim form, select the claim you require, i.e. full EPF settlement, EPF part withdrawal (loan\/advance) or pension withdrawal, under the tab \u2018I Want To Apply For\u2019. If the member is not eligible for any of the services like PF withdrawal or pension withdrawal, due to the service criteria, then that option will not be shown in the drop-down menu.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 9:<\/strong>&nbsp;Then, select \u2018PF Advance (Form 31)\u2019 to withdraw your fund. Further, provide the purpose of such advance, the amount required and the employee\u2019s address.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/assets1.cleartax-cdn.com\/s\/img\/2017\/12\/20154243\/EPF-Withdrawal-6-1024x438.png\" alt=\"EPF-Withdrawal\" class=\"wp-image-42447\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step 10:<\/strong>&nbsp;Click on the certificate and submit your application. You may be asked to submit scanned documents for the purpose you have filled the form. The employer will have to approve the withdrawal request and then only you will receive money in your bank account. It usually takes 15-20 days to get the money credited to the bank account.<\/p>\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to withdraw PF online with UAN?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can easily withdraw your PF online through your UAN by visiting the EPFO e-SEWA portal. Here are the steps you need to follow:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>1. Login to the portal \u2013<\/strong>&nbsp;Visit the EPFO e-SEWA portal and login using your UAN and password, and enter the captcha code. In case you\u2019ve forgotten your password, you can reset via an OTP sent to your registered mobile number.<\/li><li><strong>2. Visit Online Claims section \u2013<\/strong>&nbsp;When you\u2019ve logged in, you can look for \u2018Claim (Form-31, 19, 10C &amp; 10D)\u2019 in the \u2018Online Services\u2019 section<\/li><li><strong>3. Enter bank account details \u2013<\/strong>&nbsp;Once this section opens, you will be required to enter the correct bank account number (seeded with UAN), as a verification process.<\/li><li><strong>4. Confirm Terms &amp; Conditions \u2013<\/strong>&nbsp;Once you\u2019ve verified your details, you would need to confirm the \u2018Terms and Conditions\u2019 as stated by EPFO. You can then click on \u2018Proceed for Online Claim\u2019<\/li><li><strong>5. Select reason for withdrawal \u2013<\/strong>&nbsp;You\u2019ll find a dropdown menu, from which you would need to choose the reason for withdrawing from your PF account. You will only be shown the options for which you\u2019re eligible.<\/li><li><strong>6. Enter details and upload documents \u2013<\/strong>&nbsp;When you select the reason for withdrawal, you would need to enter your complete address, and you may need to upload your cheque\/passbook details if you\u2019ve chosen the option for \u2018Advance Claim\u2019. You\u2019ll need to accept further \u2018Terms and Conditions\u2019 before requesting a one-time password (OTP) for verification.<\/li><li><strong>7. Get Aadhaar OTP \u2013<\/strong>&nbsp;Once you\u2019ve confirmed your details and accepted the \u2018Terms and Conditions\u2019, you would need to request an OTP, which will be sent to the mobile number registered with your Aadhaar. On entering the OTP, your claim application will be submitted.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you\u2019ve submitted your claim, you can track the status of your claims by logging into your Member e-SEWA portal account, under \u2018Track Claim Status\u2019. The EPFO officials will match your data in their records with the data submitted in your online claim form. On completing their verification, they will process your claim application and the amount will be credited to the bank account, linked with your UAN.<br \/><br \/><\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"when\"><strong>When can EPF be withdrawn<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One may choose to withdraw EPF entirely or partially. EPF can be completely withdrawn under any of the following circumstances:<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">a. When an individual retires<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">b. When an individual remains unemployed for more than two months. To make a withdrawal on this circumstance, the individuals must get an attestation of the same from a gazetted office.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The complete withdrawal of EPF while switching employers without remaining unemployed for two months or more (i.e. during the interim period between changing jobs), is against the PF rules and regulations and therefore is not allowed.
