What is an apprenticeship?
Scottish Apprenticeships give you a flexible way to develop your workforce and address skills gaps. They’ve been designed with industry and education so they can meet your specific business needs. An apprenticeship is a job with training, leading to an approved qualification.
Apprenticeships are available across a wide range of sectors and levels.
Your apprentice will get structured training and a qualification designed for your industry. You’ll get motivated people who want to get ahead in their careers, bringing in fresh talent and skills your business needs for the growth you want.
All of this will lead to improved staff morale, productivity and quality of service, not to mention saving you time and costs on recruitment.
Who is it for?
You can use apprenticeships to hire someone new, or up-skill existing staff.
There are three different Scottish apprenticeship options available:
Foundation Apprenticeships give senior school pupils a valuable experience of the world of work, helping them gain a qualification and get a head start in their career. You’ll get early access to future talent for your workforce and support on real projects in your business.
Modern Apprenticeships allow new or existing employees to work towards an approved qualification, alongside their job.
Graduate Apprenticeships allow new or existing employees to work towards a degree level qualification whilst in full-time employment.
