How Do I Apply
Application can be made by one of the following methods:
IN PERSON
- Contact your IMM Graduate School Student Support Centre of choice to make an appointment with a Student Consultant.
- Ensure you take the required certified copies of documentation with you to the appointment.
- Complete the forms at the Student Support Centre during your visit and pay via credit card or make your payment online and submit the proof of payment.
POST
- Print the forms available on this website in the Downloads section
- Complete the forms and post these, along with the proof of payment and original certified copies of your documentation to P O Box 91820, Auckland Park, 2006.
- The IMM Graduate School requires that all new students complete the following:
- Undergraduate and Postgraduate Registration Form for the Higher Certificates, Diplomas and Degrees;
- Or the Postgraduate Registration Form for the Postgraduate Diploma, Honours or Masters.
- The Exam Declaration Form must also accompany the registration form.
Refer to the academic section under What We Offer for further details regarding admission criteria and exemptions. Students registering for the first time at the IMM Graduate School must submit original certified documents together with their Registration Form, signed Examination Declaration Form and the applicable registration fees (which are non-refundable) to the IMM Graduate School Student Support Centre.
Higher Certificate Admission Requirements
Admission Criteria
- Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.
- A CV and RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) application is required from prospective students over 23 years of age, who have no Senior Certificate, and must include work-related experience and a SAPS affidavit stating that they did not obtain a Senior Certificate. *
Admission criteria for prospective students who matriculated and exited the school system as of 2008:
- National Senior Certificate (NSC), National Certificate Vocational (NCV) or equivalent, including an achievement rating of at least 3 (40-49%) in English home language or 4 (50-59%) in English first additional language.
- The student must have met the minimum requirements for admission to a higher certificate programme at a higher education institute.
- A CV and RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) application is required from prospective students over 23 years of age, who have no NSC, and must include work-related experience and a SAPS affidavit stating that they did not obtain a NSC. *

Degree Admission Criteria
Admission criteria for Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Marketing Management
Admission criteria for prospective students who matriculated prior to and including 2007:
- Senior Certificate (Grade 12) with university exemption, plus a mark of at least 40% on higher grade or 50% on standard grade in Mathematics.
- An NQF level 5 certificate with an overall pass rate of 60% or above.
- A CV and RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) application is required from prospective students over 23 years of age, who have no Senior Certificate, but have written and passed at least four higher grade or four standard grade subjects at matric Level. The CV must include work-related experience and a SAPS affidavit stating that they did not obtain a Senior Certificate. A certified copy of subjects passed must be included. *
- Students over the ages of 45 may apply as mature age applicants.
Admission criteria for prospective students who matriculated and exited the school system as of 2008:

Postgraduate Admission Criteria
Admission criteria for the Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing Managment
- An appropriate and recognised three-year qualification on NQF level 7.
- A minimum of three years appropriate marketing or marketing-related experience. An access module, Marketing 1 may be required if the work experience is less than 3 years.
- A CV and a motivational letter are required.
Applicants are required to complete the Postgraduate Application form for admission for the Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing Management, which together with certified copies of educational certificates, identity or passport documents, a letter of motivation and a CV, should be returned by registered post to:

- A suitable Bachelor’s Degree on NQF 7 with Marketing 3 as a major module.
- Any other equivalent qualification.

Admission criteria for Masters of Philosophy (MPhil) in Marketing
A student who is in possession of the following may apply for admission:
- BCom Honours with Marketing and Research Methodology on the NQF Level 8 (HEQSF aligned); or
- BPhil Honours with Marketing and Research Methodology on the NQF Level 8 (HEQSF aligned); or
- BA Honours in Marketing Communications with Marketing and Marketing Communications as majors on the NQF Level 8 (HEQSF aligned).
- Any other equivalent qualifications.
- An overall average of 60% must have been achieved on the NQF level 8 qualification.
- A CV and motivational letter are required.
- In addition, students may be required to submit a provisional research proposal to the IMM Graduate School Research Committee.
- The Dean also has the right to prescribe any additional modules on honours level to ensure that the candidate complies with all requirements.
