EPF Passbook Online
The EPF Passbook is an online passbook facility that helps users to check their EPF account statements at any time. You can check your balance statements as well as print and download. The statements can also be accessed using the EPFO app.
Various details of the employee such as his/her PF account number, the employer’s name, establishment ID, the pension scheme and EPF scheme details, the name and type of the EPF office, etc., can be found on the UAN Passbook.
However, before an individual is able to view and download his/her passbook, the activation of the Universal Account Number (UAN) must be completed. The UAN is allotted by the EPFO and the employee will be able to receive his/her UAN from the employer or from the pay slip. Employees will also be able to know their UAN by visiting the UAN portal.
How to download EPFO Passbook
The process to view and download the PF Passbook is very simple and can be done on the EPFO portal. However, the employee must keep in mind the below-mentioned points in case they wish to view and download the passbook online:
- The PF passbook facility is only available for members who complete the UAN registration on the EPFO portal.
- Only 6 hours after the registration or activation has been completed will the passbook facility be available.
- Any changes made on the portal will only be updated after 6 hours.
- The entries that are made on the passbook must be consistent with the ones made by the EPFO field offices.
- Inoperative Members, Settled Members, and Exempted Establishment Members will not be able to avail the EPF Passbook facility.
The procedure to view and download the EPF Passbook is mentioned below:
- Initially, the employee must visit https://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_en/index.php.
- Next, the employee must click on the ‘e-Passbook’ option.
- On the new tab, the employee must enter his/her UAN, password, and captcha details.
- Next, the employee must click on ‘Login’.
- On the next page, the Member ID of the employee will be displayed. In case the employee has various Member IDs, all of them will be displayed on the screen.
- The employee must click on the Member ID of which the PF statement he/she would like to download.
- Once the employee clicks on the Member ID, all details of the PF account will be displayed such as the name of the organisation, name of the employee, where the office is located, the share of the employer and the employee, and the contribution made towards the Employees’ Pension Scheme (EPS) account.
- The employee will also be able to download the PF statement in the PDF format as well as take a print out of the statement.
EPFO services are also available on apps that can be downloaded from the UMANG website/from Playstore or app store. UMANG refers to the Unified Mobile App for New Governance.
- Registering forUAN e-Passbook
Users are required to activate their UAN to register for the e-passbook facility. You can activate your UAN by visiting the website https://unifiedportal.epfindia.gov.in. You should be able to download the e-passbook after three working days from the day of authentication. Click on ‘Download e-passbook’ after logging in to the member portal and access your e-passbook.
