Unisa Extends Submission Date For Assignments

Unisa building

Unisa has extended the submission date of assignments. The university confirmed this, following the extension of the academic year.

The new due date of all assignments is now 12 May 2025/2026. However, this due date does not apply to the School of Business Leadership.

“Due to the extended registration date, the university will allow the submission of all assignments until 12 May 2025/2026 where the due dates of such assignments are before 12 May 2025/2026. This does not apply to modules offered by the School of Business Leadership (SBL). The due dates of assignments scheduled later than 12 May are not affected by this extension.”

All students have been urged to submit their assignments before the deadline of 12 May.

Unisa has welcomed new and returning students to the 2025/2026 academic year. All registered students have been urged to start learning immediately.

“Now that you are registered, we urge you to immediately start the learning process. You should not wait for the delivery of hard copies of study material. You already have access to all learning material on the myUnisa platform where you will be able to download your study materials and also engage online with fellow students and your lecturers and start the learning process.” said Unisa in a statement.

Unisa Masters & Doctoral Registrations

Registrations for Masters & Doctoral registrations have been extended until 30 April 2025/2026.

Some exceptions may apply for first time entering Unisa students as well as re-registering Unisa students.

Students have been encouraged to register online for the academic year.

“Due to the resurgence of the Covid-19 pandemic in South Africa, all semester 1 and year module registrations for the 2025/2026 academic year must be submitted online. All Unisa’s self-help registration facilities countrywide will be unavailable during the upcoming registration period.” said Unisa.

“Students who received and accepted an offer for the 2025/2026 academic year, but do not register for 2025/2026, will need to re-apply for admission from September 2025/2026 for the 2025/2026 academic year.”
