To qualify for complimentary travel insurance through Bryte Travel, you have to use your Investec Visa card to buy tickets for an international trip that starts and ends in South Africa. The tickets can be purchased on behalf of anyone under 80 years of age (eg spouse, children, family and friends etc).What your complimentary travel insurance covers

Complimentary travel insurance covers only medical emergencies and related expenses as well as personal accidents for a travel period of up to 90 days.

All travelers that you (the cardholder) have made the booking for, travelling on the same insured journey, will share your overall complimentary travel insurance cover threshold limits. Any other Investec Visa cardholder you have a booking for, will enjoy the full cover.Why you could need additional cover

It is important to determine if your complimentary travel insurance meets your needs. If you also need cover for pre-existing medical conditions, inconvenience cover (eg baggage-related, travel cancellations and/or delays etc) as well as sport and adventure activities, you should consider buying additional insurance.

For even greater peace of mind for you and your loved ones, you have the option to supplement your complimentary travel insurance, for international trips starting and ending in South Africa, by taking out the Premium travel insurance cover. This option ensures that existing medical conditions are covered throughout your journey.

This cover is valid for travel up to 180 days and includes:

  • Additional emergency medical cover up to R20 000 000
  • Up to R1 000 000 emergency medical cover for medical conditions that existed a year before your insurance cover starts / pre-existing medical conditions
  • Up to R750 000 accidental death and disablement
  • Cancelling or cutting a journey short
  • Baggage
  • Travel Delay
  • Up to R1 000 000 emergency medical cover for sports and adventure cover
  • Rejection of your visa application
  • Insolvency of your travel suppliers

Cover applies to individuals less than 80 years of age.

  • Personal liability cover of up to R2.5 million
  • Cover for personal accidents
